Obviously I am currently in the middle of migrating every single journal entry (sans private entries and my friends-only banner) from my LiveJournal to here, in case I decide to give LJ and SUP the finger. So until I A. get every entry imported (and that’s going to take me a fucking age, because I had to split my journal entries into years), and B. figure out the WP equivalent of an LJ-cut, this blog is going to look very untidy. My advice? Deal with it. *sweet smile*
Something I’m tossing back and forth and can’t quite decide whether to bother with: d’you think there’s going to be much call for a short guide to/comments thread to discuss non-LiveJournal equivalents of things like LJ-cuts, friends lists, whatever? I find myself looking up or thinking over a lot of this sort of thing lately and I’m wondering if it’d be worth throwing it all together in a blog post for other LJ escapees who were used to things being simple and now are having to do them the hard way.
I think it would definitely come in handy. I mean, you only have to look at my blog as it is right now to realise how much I relied on LJ-cuts, let alone other people – I post some insanely long entries, mostly fanfic. That likely won’t happen as often, because I’m going to be linking this blog with my website, and when I buy my own domain I’m going to fully integrate it as much as possible. There won’t be a need to post full chapters when the link to my hanfic site is staring people in the face – it’ll just be unnecessary.
I do need to tidy things up, though. And sooner rather than later…
All right, I’ll start outlining it now and get it up sometime this afternoon or evening (it’s 11:15 A.M. here now). I go to work in a couple of hours (maybe; I took the morning off sick so they might just tell me to stay home) but we’re not very busy today so I’ll probably have plenty of time to work on it from there.
