My feet are killing me, I have a sore ankle and a sore knee, I think I’m getting a blister on my left foot, and I’ve been up since 4:45 this morning so I’m damn near exhausted.
But I had fun today. Olympic Park was packed as per usual, and it rained this morning. And I spent a fuckload of money – out of the $350 I took with me, I have somewhere in the region of $120 left. I have $110 in notes and a handful of gold and silver coins left in my wallet. The $110 is going in my laptop fund, and I’m going to use my shrapnel as pocket change.
I bought my showbags first – spent $78 on them. I now have a crapload of magazines to read and a whole showbag of Cadbury chocolate (including a whole box of Roses) to eat.
After that, I went around to my usual Show haunts and bought:
- A toy duck
- Two necklaces – one with a dolphin as a charm, to replace the one I got at Jamberoo that broke nearly 3 years ago, and a handmade bead necklace
- Earrings
- Lavender heatpad – odds are I won’t be able to use it often, because I am the only one living in this house who likes lavender, and whenever I nuke it in the microwave it’ll make the whole house smell like it. But at least it means I won’t need to fill my hot water bottle so often.
- Two jars of rock candy – kiwifruit and blueberry flavours
- A Sydney Roosters scarf – it’s official NRL merchandise too
- A butterfly hairclip
- A light-up ‘fairy wand’
- A dolphin carving that looks like it’s made out of marble
- A fake airbrush tattoo – I decided to get a sun ‘tattooed’ on the back of my right hand

Best part of the Show this year was a tie between Xtreme Korruption as usual, and a hypnotist called Shane St. James. I didn’t participate in the hypnotism, as I have no desire to make an arse out of myself, but I quite happily watched – and it was fucking hilarious.
Oh god, Cadbury . . . *drools* I’m already making plans to go stock up on Mini-eggs tomorrow night or day after tomorrow when they’re on clearance for like $1.50 USD (XE says that’s $1.67 AUD) a bag. Sounds like the show was fun.
